China pushes global agriculture forward—chili stem cutting machine

Today, China plays an important political and economic role on the international stage.Over the past decades, developing countries around the world have looked to China’s achievements in economic development as an example.

China has made impressive achievements in fighting hunger and made outstanding contributions to global poverty reduction and hunger reduction.China is one of the few countries to meet its hunger reduction target ahead of schedule, meeting the UN millennium development goal of halving the proportion of hungry people between 1990 and 2015.

China’s continued depth and innovation in agricultural research has allowed the country to achieve remarkable results in this area, and has allowed it to help more developing countries meet their many global challenges in a sustainable way.Among them, biotechnology, ecological agriculture and climate-smart agriculture play a crucial role in improving agricultural output and farmers’ quality of life.In addition, China is very strong in information and communication technology. With the increasing popularity of communication technology,China’s smallholder producers are making new and efficient attempts to cope with price, weather, financial and other challenges, and farmers’ lives have been comprehensively improved. All of this depends heavily on China’s cutting-edge research, and China is actively sharing these cutting-edge technologies with the rest of the world,to the benefit of many countries.

I would also like to commend China for its strong support for south-south cooperation.South-south cooperation is a development model promoted by the food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (fao). It is effective in creating jobs, building infrastructure and promoting trade in developing countries. To date, the Chinese government has allocated us $80 million for the south-south cooperation program between China and the fao to support knowledge sharing and technology transfer among developing countries.Since the program was launched in 1996, China has stationed more than 1,000 experts and technicians in 37 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the south Pacific. These Chinese experts have taught advanced technologies in many fields such as agricultural mechanization and machinery manufacturing, marketing of agricultural products, agro-forestry and food processing, aquaculture, crop production and horticulture, and animal husbandry, thus making great contributions to the agricultural development of these countries.

The fao is pleased to witness China’s transformation from a recipient to a major donor. China has provided a wealth of technical assistance, financial support and development solutions to developing countries around the world.

In addition, China has played a leading role in preventing transboundary animal diseases, strengthening control and monitoring of cross-border trade in animal products in the greater Mekong subregion. In cooperation with the United Nations food and agriculture organization, China has promoted a series of safer practices against animal diseases, including classical swine fever, African swine fever, foot-and-mouth disease and peste des petit ruminants, to detect and prevent the spread of animal diseases.

After nearly a decade of steady decline, the number of hungry people in the world has surged in the past three years. To achieve the goal of zero hunger by 2030, all countries need to work together and work together. There is no doubt that China will play an important role in this process.
